I attended my 10th expanding session yesterday, another 40ml was put in so I’m up to 320ml now. My plastic surgeon and neurosurgeon have booked me in for my cranioplasty surgery on 2nd July 2022 where my titanium skull will be inserted and I will no longer have to wear my skull protector.
I will have one more expanding session next Monday to get me to 360ml. It’s a relief that we have finally got to this point - it will be one year to the day the infection first appeared! I am feeling nervous but excited, there is finally light and I am nearly on the other side of this and can start the recovery process.
