Following from my last post where my skin started to breakdown after my 4th expanding session, I had a follow up appointment today with my specialist. He wants to hold off with any expanding this week and check again in a weeks time. He would like to make sure my skin is ready for the next session to prevent my skin being to thin and breaking - which could result in the process starting all over again. The plan is to gradually expand again so maybe 30-40ml each session to ensure my skin remains on track for the cranioplasty surgery.
I came away from that appointment feeling slightly deflated knowing that it’s such a long road ahead; however, I know that my specialists are doing everything they can to keep me on track. I just have to keep remembering this is a short time where my life is on hold for the outcome we all want!
